omg warm weather!! i guess bc where i live it’s cold 8 months out of 12 but if it weren’t for sweat i’d be all for living in a tropical area

I need your help :( my baby crested gecko has stuck shed. I've been trying for days to get it all off, and idk what to do. I've tried warm water bath, rubbing gently with a q-tip, carefully using tweezers.. But there's shed stuck on one ear hole and I don't know I'm feeling super distressed that I can't help. The tank humidity is good and I've given the gecko time to try to remove it but it doesn't seem to be trying at all
Do not use tweezers, let him do it by himself at this rate. He’ll be able to get it off, boost the humidity at night and give him daily ROOM TEMPERATURE soaks.
Warm water is too hot for them, you want room temperature water in a tupperware tub with paper towels at the bottom and a lid placed on top. They’ll rub on the towels and slowly get the shed off over the course of a few days or a week.
My 11 gram crested gecko had the same thing a few months ago, and got it done pretty fine. It’s a hard area to help them shed, so just watch for now. Odds are by the next time they shed it will be removed.

nice! thats awesome
I'm a nervous first time crested gecko mom!! ah I just need some consolation that I'm doing things right. I'm just worried that the gecko isn't eating enough tho I leave prepared Pangea mix in the tank at all times and switch it for fresh every other day and there's water and calcium available all the time and yeah . I just don't know!
You don’t need the calcium in there for sure, any extra calcium should be offered to egg laying females or rescues that were mistreated.
Don’t worry too much about them eating though, they’re tricky to catch chowing down until they’re fully grown and make a racket while doing so. Or at least in my experience, but I own a pig of a reptile.
Either way, even if it takes a while they WILL eat. No need to interfere unless they begin to lose weight dramatically. I’ve seen geckos go for a month without eating after being brought to their new home and then eat well afterward, try shaking the plants when you clean. Little turds may rain down from them.
you ARE A GODDESs !!
oMG thank you!! your hair is beautiful!
Hi, my crested gecko came in. Didnt get a hatch date but s/he's a slightly larger size then other babies I've seen at expos so I'm guessing s/he is 12 weeks old. I have had them in the kritter keeper for most of the day so far, but I'm realizing it will be hard for me to monitor and maintain humidity in there when I'm at school all day tomorrow.. the 12x12x18 has a bunch of moss to hold the moisture, and the food is elevated on a shelf.. Do you still think I shouldn't put them in it yet?
Keep them in the kritter keeper, you can mist just before you leave and when you get back. Offer a water dish as well- doesn’t have to be big.
You do need a dry out period during the day, around 50% humidity. Only at night do you need a humidity of about 80%. A water dish will help keep it at 50% during the day!
