“Remember when you took down Two-Tonne in that jewel heist a few months ago? You’re more than capable of hunting down these fugitives.” Mason told her authoritatively, his tone gentle and unwavering, yet still stern and commanding.
“I just don’t think I’m ready for such a task,” her voice squeaked, almost too quietly to hear had it not been for her voice naturally being rather high-pitched. “Well like it or not, Miss Shiftwell, you’re our only asset. Yes, you are a new agent, barely even two years within your field, but you have proven yourself to be capable.”
“Miss Shiftwell, do you really think I would give you an assignment if I did not think you were capable of doing it?” Mason asked, his gaze transfixed on the purple sportscar.
