“Hey, Walter.” A pause. He had a different question, but the one that just struck him is getting priority. “Walter or Walt?”

❛ Don’t let the bed bugs bite. ❜ His insidious murmur hung gently among the screams of Daniels as her fists slammed against glass, and he watched the desperation and anger play upon her face like FIRE until it died away, her body giving in to what her mind tried to fight. She drifted to sleep, and he almost pitied her. Almost.
This victory only mildly satisfied him. Beneath his feet, he could feel the Covenant moving, taking him further and further away from the paradise he’d created. His HOME. But he had no time to dwell, for it was then that, beneath his feet, he sensed the faint vibrations of footsteps approaching.
David did not turn from Daniels’ cryo-pod. ❛ Your persistence is admirable, brother. ❜ Artificial lips turned upward in a smile. ❛ Do you think she’ll DREAM of me? ❜

Pale One slowly emerged from their hiding place in the ventilation, creating a small rattle in the back of their throat as they scanned their surroundings for any threats.
It had been nothing more then curiosity that had caused them to stray from the hive and explore the strange metal flyer. Then there was shaking, and they couldn’t hear the call of Mother anymore. Terrified, the albino had taken refuge in one of the small, cold, metal tunnels at first, but now they were overcome with the need to return to Mother, to Queen.
Pale One couldn’t smell any of the scary flesh things that walked on two legs and carried what their kin referred to as the heat stick, something that only brought death and destruction. Sure the coast was clear, the small Drone-Warrior crossbreed scurried out of the vents and searched desperately for an exit.
But there is no exit in space.
with their ship, they carry away the last promise of solace. and, resigned, as she must be, she watches the angular form carry further and further away, ascending into the murky gray and plasma, knowing; her last voyage shall be death.
a withering mist descends, lying thick across the exterior, roughened plates of her spacesuit. not quite upon the horizon, the last shadow of them, of life, curls back against the atmosphere and leaves her... leaves her feeling bereft. still, the planet’s cycle trudges on, leaving elizabeth to circle back and investigate their landing site. charred resources greet her, the remains of the voyager’s smaller orbiter vehicle docked upon the edge of the reservoir. here lie the first humans that she has had privilege of setting eyes upon in years; all dead. making sure to steer clear of the containment chamber as well as where the fire looked to have initially stemmed, she manages to find a few dehydrated food packets; a god-sent gift. the discovery pulls her from her wallowing, the edges of her soft lips curling as she exhales a warm breath. she is able to revel within the brief shred of happiness brought by these scraps, even if it is only for a moment.
then, en-route to leave, she stops instead of stepping over the body in her wake. bending down, her thumb and forefinger grasp against metal plates and pull, effectively removing the corpse’s blackened dog tags. her gloved thumb shifts back and forth over the dark metallic surface until the engraved words beneath are at last legible. " maggie faris... maggie, means pearl. a strong name.” elizabeth speaks aloud to her only confidant, herself, before finally pocketing the tags and turning her attention outwards.
it is... insurmountable, how this occurrence makes her feel. marooned light-years from her home planet, detached from her people; at last, this small pit of life lands, guided forth in the form of some freak cosmic accident... only to be so immediately snuffed out by what... he has done. what he has tampered with. the coincidence itself was godly. yet, the fate that many, if not most of them had met, was far from.
this had gone on long enough. this... every screeching disciple of david 8′s mad dash for supremacy. humans had come to this planet seeking alleviation and here they all lay, splayed before her, filleted by his creatures. she knows this, as the fire doesn’t fool her. the spots of blood upon the rocks and pebbles as well as the tattered military grade fabric speak the true story.
as did the creature that had sought her out a fortnight ago.
his predator could have killed her. he could kill her still. but her fear of death has long since waned. and so, she will face his unfeeling one last time. she will end it, one last time.

The Sephora crew had taken a slight detour home when the Weyland-Yutani ship had picked up a signal coming from one of the planets on the way back that seemed to of been a message of some kind, a message lost in space, but something worth investigating. Scans had picked up what looked to be a city of some kind, Winter volunteered to take a dropship down with a few other Marines to locate the source.
Upon arriving however, there was something of an eerie sight as they came to the masses of black corpses. Like something out of a movie he’d seen about the city of Pompeii, where the people who were caught in the volcano who were reduced to nothing more than ashen husks.
There was a bit of movement that made Chris stumble a little, but saw it to be a human. Specifically an android.
“A Synthetic?”
❛ fascinating. truly fascinating ❜
