Some clarifications below!! 

This is kind of an au where they got to have dorms in Hexside and this scene happens long after Willow and Amity reconciled.

Another thing for those who might think Amity is ooc in the 8th & 9th panel: 

Im (not) sorry but I hc Amity as being more touchy with Willow now that they had become good friends again, like when they were kids u_u

Thanks to "Hooty's Moving Hassle", we now know that Willow and Amity are Childhood Friends.

Let's talk about their relationship

What We've Got So Far

When Willow and Amity are introduced, many (included myself) that Amity was picking on Willow for the sake of being the mean girl, but that's proven to not be the case.

When these two were revealed to have been friends, their dynamic shown in Episode 3 changed.

Amity was trying to help Willow, but cause her people skills are clearly trash, it came off across as bullying.

It's even possible that Amity sees Willow as a genuine friend.

- Note: Look how Amity is with Willow & Boscha and the other mean girls. With Willow she's smiling and close to her, but with Boscha and others, she distant with no smile.

While Amity seems to want to be friends again, Willow is ashamed of said friendship to the point where she kept it a secret from Luz.

As (Former) Classmates

Before Luz showed up, Willow and Amity were classmates in the Abomination Track. Which Willow HATED.

Now why would Willow be in the Abomination Track when she clearly specializes in Plant Magic?

- Maybe Amity got her into the class somehow to rekindle their friendship?

- Maybe Willow's parents got her into the same class as Amity after seeing Willow miss her so much?

- Willow's parents seem to have problems with plant magic, but out of all the classes, why the abomination track?

It's clear at this point that Amity hates cheaters. So when Willow cheated with Luz, Amity may have felt disappointed.

Then Amity's status as top student was taken away, making this even more personal until Willow changes classes.

Now I'm going to shift to Amity's relationship with Luz.

It's clear that Amity doesn't like Luz very much (we all know who that # was meant for).

Amity didn't even acknowledge the fact that she was going to get Luz dissected (showing us she didn't feel bad at all).

Even after finding out that Luz is training to be a witch (even showing her a spell), Amity still doesn't seem to like her.

She does respect her now though.

-Note: When Amity sees Luz in episode 5, she refers to her as "Willow's Abomination Thing", despite knowing that Willow was cheating and Luz wasn't an Abomination.

She blamed just Luz for getting her in trouble when Willow was also in on the cheating.

It's possible that Amity even sees Luz as a bad influence on Willow.

-Note: You can see Amity's expressions change the more Willow and Luz show off.

It's possible that Amity was trying to be Willow's friend again in her own way, but feels like Luz is getting in the way.

What's happened since Luz showed up.

Willow and Amity are no longer in the same class.

Willow has a strong bond with another girl who isn't Amity.

Willow is now confident with her magical abilities.

Amity got in trouble at school for the first time.

Amity showed a different side of herself to Luz.

- Maybe Luz will have Amity and Willow talk things out?

Amity surrounds herself with possible fake friends and saw Willow being awesome with Gus and Luz.

- Headcanon: You need actual friends to animate things during a Conjuring.

Willow & Amity vs. Willow & Luz

Willow & Amity

Willow and Amity were friends until Amity got her magical powers.

Amity made Willow feel quite insecure. Whether she meant to or not.

Amity believes she is in fact better than Willow.

It's possible that Amity wants to be Willow's friend again, but she prioritizes being the best over said friendship.

Willow & Luz

After seeing Willow's powers for the first time, Luz knew she was awesome.

Luz is quite supportive of Willow (until things get too bad).

Luz actually believes that Willow is more powerful than Amity.

Luz is sweet and affectionate towards Willow.

- Note: Look how close they are despite only knowing eachother for a few weeks (at least).

Luz, Willow, & Amity

Amity could be jealous of the bond that Willow is developing with Luz.

Luz could help rekindle Willow and Amity's friendship.

Willow clearly sees Luz as a better friend than Amity.

What if Amity's rekindling her friendship with Willow (with Luz's help) will be part of her redemption arc (if she gets one)?

Could Luz be the push Willow and Amity need to be friends again?
