Here’s five facts about the Brothers of Babylon from (you guessed it) The Brothers of Babylon series in A Series of Unfortunate Mysteries! (Which can be accessed here.)
They have names! From left to right on the picture above, it’s Caligo, Mortem, and Pulvis.
Their names are Latin for darkness, death and dust. (Little creepy…)
Ancient legends say that if you see the Brothers (consciously or unconsciously), you will die in three days within your first encounter. (Spooky, right?)
(Speaking of ancient,) The Brothers have (supposedly) been found in or took part in multiple cults that have popped up throughout written history.
One of these cults was Pantodynamos (It’s a mouthful, we know.), which had a strongly-believed prophecy, involving its leader, who had three powerful advisors (a.k.a. the Bros of Babylon). It said that the leader would be killed by a trusted follower (more like a double-agent), and the religion would die. It would resurface centuries later, when both would be reincarnated, and the reincarnation of the double-agent, or Antichrist, would be killed and the leader’s reincarnation would bring back Pantodynamos. (Say that ten times faster.)
