Since I'm struggling with a fic, I thought I'd do this for one of the characters to see if anything popped out about her

Colour: Yellow

Food: Pineapple and Ham pizza

Season: Summer

Animal: Snuffish

Pastime: Playing arcade games

Some misc thoughts about Dakota:

Grew up on an electronics space station as the child of an engineer and a administrator.

Was a lonely child who spent a lot of time playing arcade games.

Was planning on attending the Terrene Protectorate Academy to extend her studies as a mechanic, with Teleporter as her specialty.

Is one of the youngest on Mio's crew because of this.

Loves summer, as space stations are cold and sterile; her favourite places to visit are ocean planets for their tropical warmth and the ability to swim in the ocean.

Likes all fish, but likes Snuffish the best.

Very precise mannerisms; has overcome the desire to correct crewmates when they're a little bit wrong about how something works.

Prizes and uses often the teleporter toolset her father bought her as a going-away gift when they still thought she would enter the Terrene Protectorate Academy.

Chews on her hair when anxious.

Today is a 'getting over writer's block by making characters in heroforge' day.

This is Irvine Cobbleskater, one of the Watchmen from Toreguard's 8th Precinct. He was originally partnered up with Alphonse Richter (PC), then Farren Breakwood after Alphonse's death and the PC party being on the run from the city.

He's a garrulous and chirpy gnome ranger, with a penchant for intelligence gathering using his team of rats. One of the few watchmen who enjoys doing paperwork, this means that he and Farren don't go out on the beat as much as Farren would like.

He is, however, the epitome of that "I've only had x for one day but if anything happened to them I'd kill everyone and then myself" meme.

For @geopsych's treasure hunt

A fair, but misty day. It was super toasty yesterday, 13c in Feb! This is looking out over the Purbeck hills, you can see how the water and air temps have caused them to appear hazy.

A robin. I promise there's a birdy in that bramble thicket! And it was polite enough to hold still so I could take a photo. There are always robins at this park, so it's lovely to see something that's not a seagull :)

An interesting watery thing. Taken the same day as the first pic, this was taken at the edge of the quay so it's a rather sheltered spot. I'm always a big fan of the way the sun does the glinty thing, turning water to chrome.

Behold! A Carrot!

I told mum about it and, bless her, she says 'remember to watch out for slugs'.

I have lived in this 3rd-floor flat for nearly 20 years. She's fully cogent of this fact, and has been, for 20 years.

I was like, if a slug can scale 25ft up to reach these carrots, then they deserve them.

Guess who has a new plant!

Ya. it's mee.

This was a gift from my nephew (via my mum). They'd been out to some museum somewhere, because it's the Easter hols, and he thought I would like it. And I do! It's a Houseleek, apparently, and very cute.

In order to make space for it, it did surrender a very sickly Amaryllis to Mum. It was one of the first ones I got, and I think at some point I gave it root rot because if any moisture gets in the soil, I get these annoying little flies. So it's gone off to the great compost heap in the sky.

I need to do a round up of everything else at some point. Doing the house plants is fine, but I'd like to show the outside too. Except there I'm struggling with the motivation (& spiders) to clear out the dead stuff and get in new - mostly because I know I'm going to be away 2wks in July again and I don't like the idea that it's all just going to die in the heat again...

Risotto Recipe Zine

My New Year's resolution was to make a zine every other month using the prompts on this 'zinetober' post. I started out with the recipe one, so here is Dru & Tigger's New Year's Eve Prawn and Mushroom Risotto.

Some photos from my Late Aug Bank Holiday walk from Burley to Holmsley and back, partly along the bed of the disused Castleman's Corkscrew railway.

And also, this thing¹:

¹ A Goat Moth Caterpillar. Rare, lives in oak and ash trees, 4in long, can live as a caterpillar for 5 years before pupating, was rescued from the cricket pitch viewing area and placed back on a fallen oak branch. Did not sniff to see if it really smells like goat.
