👉🏻To visit Eagles Nest on the border of #austria and #Germany was not an easy thing for me as a third generation to a Holocaust survivor. The building was commissioned and paid by the Nazi party in 1937. It is now open for tourists and we were told the views are unbelievable and not to miss it. I'll give them that. These are amongst the most beautiful views I have ever seen. You arrive at a parking lot where you leave your vehicle and can choose to either hike up there or take the bus that will take you to an underground tunnel with a lift into the building. The building itself and the lift were so fancy yet harsh looking. It made me feel even more uneasy to be there. The building is set at 1830m and only when we stepped outside to watch the views I was so amazed that for a moment I forgot where we were. It's a sweet sour experience. But I do recommend it.
