God Troubles Me is cruel from not making Ting and Wang Xiaobao a thing of any kind.

I think it's a shame that Su Moting's inferiority complex isn't talked about at all. It makes sense given the size of the fandom and the fact that it's quickly downplayed with comedic scenes afterwards, but watching the beginning of episode 3 season 4 reminded me of how much I want to talk about it.

For starters, there's the whole Wang Xiaobao situation, in which she constantly felt like she had to compete against him. She says lines like, "don't I have any dignity? Because of you, I've been unable to hold my head up." She also mentions being compared to him by her parents and other adults. Along with that, in the flashbacks we get of her, she's shown to be a smart, well-performing student. And now? She's a lazy adult with a procrastination problem who can barely go to work.

There's the last episode of season one where she feels inadequate after being confronted by the other versions of her, saying, "is the person I am now really that bad? When did I become like this?" This obviously adds to my previous point about how she wasn't always like this.

Finally, there's the scene that inspired me to write this: the nightmare in episode 3 season 4. It's clearly meant to highlight her fear of being controlled by the halo, yes, but I also think it touches on her inferiority complex. She saves everyone and gets nothing but laughter in return. Her heroic action is mocked. She is nothing in their eyes.

This might be me overanalyzing a comedy donghua, though, but I still think it's worth talking about.

There is nobody in this fucking fandom, so this is a cry that will not be heard, but I need someone to edit Su Moting to Francis Forever. Specifically the line "I don't need the world to see that I've been the best I can be. But I don't think I can stand to be where you don't see me" and it would be about her dynamic with Wang Xiaobao :/

Also, seemingly no one has mentioned Wang Xiaobao could be Food God's brother (or related to him in another way), since a photograph of the two is shown in his introduction episode.
