Uh, idk if you meant it as a group or as individual, so... I’m gonna do what fancies me, lol.

1. 95 SUPREMACY.

I have, like, 5 tags for 95 Metallica? So this is straight up in the first place. I mean, it’s the year of Tuktoyaktuk, what do you want me to say?

2. Seattle 98.

Am I mainstream? Am I obvious? I am man, yes I am (cit). Look, what can I say? I still remember the first time I saw that concert and LAUGH MY ASS OFF at the editing montage. Really, a whole concert in which the various camera movement are linked through hair movement? Instant fave. And the sound and the energy and the pure inadulterated feeling of unstoppable-- like, the laws of physics dont apply for real and you get two hours where friction, as a natural force, doesn’t exist. Everything keeps going and going and going. // that said, also pretty lights and grainy film texture. 14/10 for aes.

3. that stretch between RTL and MOP.

Them, in the Carlson Blvd garage, Lars’ sweaty socks hanging to dry on the hi-hat, Cliff going back and forth from his parents house. It’s the liminal spot, it’s not exactly before but it’s still not ‘after’, y know what i mean, right? Or maybe it’s just me, that I see these 20 something boys and I go ‘mood’ bc I also am in my 20s and I do dress ratty and proud and basically I only use band tshirt and--- boy, the mixture of dumbness and ‘i had this AMAZING IDEA, LETS DO IT’. This is the place. They can’t afford a house yet, and they aren’t even thinking about it. There is the next song, the next concert, the next hang out, and nothing else. Mind you, I’m not romanticizing or idolizing a past, it’s just... a youth that it just is, they are not trying to be young or doing ‘young people thing’, it’s not the droning motto of ‘this night is the night’. They are just... living, existing. I just like them in that garage, okay? fhjkdhfkjsf

4. MISSION METALLICA YOOOOO.

To the surprise of no one that follows this blog. Rob staying up at night giving the bottle to his newborn while listening through tons of riffs? Lars losing his shoe under the console and Greg digging it out for him? Kirk keeping up the ahloa friday shirts and GLOWING he was GLOWING in those years? James going on abt the smelly rug in LA? priceless. They looked snarky, energized, chill and... generally happy! Such a good era. (..... I am tempted to include ALL the DM era, bc I totally want to make a shout out to that INFAMOUS gig in Seoul 2006, bc I love Kirk being super pissed at humidity jkdfhsjkfhsd)

5. in a very tallica fashion I wanted to say ‘the next one’, bc that’s what we all strive for, right? but I’ve gone philosophical enough in this long ass response, so I’m gonna go with First Time in Japan Metallica. A classic.
