❝ you filthy piece of shit. ❞ { special guest star Gray for Gabriel bc Momma Bear ain't gonna be happy }
army of the dead sentence starters
It was rather disappointing to see Connor follow in the footsteps of his father. There was so much potential for greatness there, yet he was settling for less than that. Accepting some sad half-life underneath incompetent leaders with his non-alpha legacy girlfriend when it should be him at the very top running the show with a more suitable partner at his side. His legacy would not die with him, he’d make sure of it.
“If you’re going to be an alpha, you'll need to rethink some of your choices.” Gabriel remarks as he makes himself known to his grandson. Connor was caught off guard by his appearance and went a tad defensive, but he just chuckled in response. “I’ve always been very transparent with you, Connor. You know why I’m here, I only want what’s best for my grandson.” He didn’t seem to believe that. Deacon must have been pumping more nonsense into the boy’s head. That would need to be undone.
“Alright. How about this then? I know how to save your girlfriend.” Smirking as he gained his full attention, he goes on. “I’m still the alpha, Connor. Crystal, Sutton, the others: they all have their own agendas, but they still have to answer to me. My word is law and will be obeyed. I need only give word and she won’t be touched.” Gabriel allows that to sink in before going on. “Of course, you don’t get something for nothing. However, I’m not asking for much here. Just that you take back your birth right and cut your romantic ties with her. I have someone better suited for you.”
That was met with backlash as Connor hollered at him. He had zero tolerance for back talk; no one ever talked to him in such a way without consequence. Backhanding him hard across the face, the force sent him to the ground as he looked down upon him. “You do not talk to me like that, boy,” he growls menacingly as he reaches down and roughly yanks him back up to his feet. “I’m still the fucking alpha here! You will respect me, got it? Either you take my offer or you bury her, those are your ch--”
Gabriel didn’t get to finish as an arrow struck him in the arm and he let go. It sizzled with what was without a doubt wolfsbane and he hissed in pain.
❝ you filthy piece of shit. ❞ His son’s wife barked at him.
Turning to her, he grabbed the end of the arrow and yanked it out. “I don’t allow women to talk to me that way either.” He growls as he sends the arrow flying back toward her. Before it could hit target though, it was caught by Deacon. Handing it back to Gray, he was quite livid.
“Well, looks who’s finally come to play. You know, son, if you’d just had the gall to take back what was rightfully yours, this would all be very unnecessary. Connor would already be something spectacular. But you never really did have what it takes, did you?”
“That’s fucking bullshit. Connor doesn’t need a fucking title to be something. He’s never been nothing. This isn’t even about him or me, it’s about you. It’s always been about you. You and your ego and your stupid fucking legacy. It took me a long time to realize that but I eventually did. It’s not dead because of me, it’s dead because of you.”
Gabriel scoffs. “Please. I practically fucking spoonfed alpha to you and what did you do with it? Absolutely nothing. You submitted to another ‘alpha’ and married a fucking hunter. The ultimate treason.”
“There’s more to life than being the alpha. I’m happy with my choices, so you can shove your legacy up your ass.”
“And that’s why we’re here. Because of your choices.” Turning back to Connor, he could hear Gray reloading her crossbow, so he supposed this was over for now. “Tick tock, Connor. Only I can save her, so you’d better decide what’s more important: her love or her life.”
Leaving him with that, Gabriel disappeared before Gray could take her shot.
“Dad,” Connor greeted, knowing he had to confess. He didn’t need to knock at his parents’ house, so he had just walked right in and found both parents in the kitchen and braced for the talk. “I saw Gabriel yesterday.” { a little thing for Deacon Bc Connor knows gf is a smart and always right lady lol }
Standing in the kitchen with his wife, they were discussing possible strategies for defense against aggressive spirits when Connor interrupted. "What's up, bud?" He asks before going a bit white as he mentioned seeing his father yesterday. For the longest time Deacon had looked up to his father, even despite how much he and his siblings had suffered at his hand. It took a very long time to overcome and realize he'd, like with Crystal, idolized the wrong person. His father wanted nothing good from his son.
"Where? Did he hurt you? Are you okay?"
❛ for you, i’ll do everything in my power. ❜ { for Ronnie }
A meme forever lost in the hoard
@wannablessedxbe
She couldn’t stop shaking. Everything just felt so unreal, almost like a dream. Ronnie kept thinking she’d wake up any second now but she never did. Because this was real life, and in real life, her youngest was dead. It was her worst fear as a mother and it had come true. She couldn’t breathe.
Unable to sit in the room where her Sammy laid unmoving, Ronnie found quiet in the kitchen where she bawled and stared off into the distance for an undeterminate amount of time. At some point, a mug of something warm is pushed into her hands as Gray joins her at Seph’s kitchen table.
“I can’t breathe,” she cries to her sister-in-law, “it’s like someone’s dropped a pile of rocks on my chest suffocating me. It doesn’t feel real, it can’t be real.” Breathing shakily, she takes a sip from the mug hoping it would calm her nerves some, but there was no relief to be found. Not when the world had ended.
“Gray,” she breathes after a moment, turning to her. “I can’t do this. I can’t and I don’t want to. I’m not strong enough. I need my son back. I need him like I need air and water and food. My children are my whole world, Gray. Sammy’s too young... He’s... He’s too young! Kids aren’t supposed to die before their parents. They’re just not.”
She was hysterical at this point as Gray attempted to bring her back down and pull her into the comfort of her arms. There was no soothing her though. “Please, please... We need to save him, Gray. This can’t be how it ends for him, it can’t be. He’s got so much ahead of him. I need my baby back, we need to save him.”
❛ for you, i’ll do everything in my power. ❜ Gray promises.
That was what Seph had told her too. The whole team was on this one for Sammy and for Marlene. They were just kids, much too young to meet such devastating ends. Nobody was accepting that.
With that reassurance, she sobs into her sister-in-law’s shoulder. Until her Sammy was back in her arms again, all the promises in the world wouldn’t make it better.
If she punched him real quick, would anyone notice? "Are you done?" She murmured as he laughed like he didn't just break up with Satan. "Right, you'll bang anything that's remotely nice to you and you look like an Abercrombie model when that stuff was cool." She shouldn't have left Adrian. That was the helpful brother. "I happen to think I'm quite charming, and I'm not interested in getting laid tonight. So pass."
That was pretty damn hilarious. Apparently she didn’t agree as she went back to insulting him. “Oh, fuck off. At least I get laid. And who I fuck is nobody’s business but mine, alright? So don’t act all high and mighty like you’ve never made any questionable decisions.” He tosses back before laughing again at her next comment.
“Yeah. Okay. Sure. Whatever you say. I mean, you couldn’t charm the pants off of a mannequin, but yeah, you’re a real charmer.”
She could see why she had to beat back the line of women to get an audience with his majesty. That personality was killer. She was actually gonna have to chase him; she had reached a new low. "No, wait, help me," she hissed. With a sigh, she swallowed down the urge to vomit by admitting this to him. "I'm the next contestant for Operation: Get Laid, so I need something else to do. I'll be your wing woman?"
Apparently the fact he was literally running away from her went right over her head. As Gray persists in annoying him, Deacon turns back to her as she makes a plea for his help. Then came the kicker. “Oh man. That’s the best shit I’ve heard all night.” He couldn’t help but laugh at that for a solid minute before becoming serious again.
“First things first, I don’t need a wing woman. If I did, definitely wouldn’t pick you. Second, that’s a problem... why? I mean, let’s be honest, if anyone ever needed to get laid, it’s you, so do yourself a favor. Get laid. Maybe it’ll put you in a good mood for once.”
