Rosemary is always a plus. The cherry tomatoes are always really bountiful, too. Good choices!

I'm a big fan of leafy greens like kale and chard but I also love pumpkins and squash because the yellow flowers that grow from the plants are delicious. Also beets yum yum yummmmm.

Those sound great. This house used to grow massive pumpkins. There are a few videos of when I was a little preschooler and my dad made jack-o-lanterns out of the home grown pumpkins. And beets are some of my favorite vegetables.

Tomatoes (beefsteak & cherry), bell peppers & cayenne, basil, some bee friendly flowers.

There are definitely plenty of flowers ready to bloom around here. And peppers do sound good! And I’m trying to grow tomatoes and basil from seed, they’re already planted in the greenhouse. We’ll see how they turn out. Either way I’m going to be getting more tomatoes.

cherry tomatoes, boston butter lettuce, kale, squash, and cucumbers are favorites at my house!

Cherry tomatoes are a must. Lettuce sounds good, but we’ll see. Kale and squash definitely sound good, but squash is something that sits around the house not eaten, haha. And cucumbers are always good! Especially when they grow big.

Jalapenos tend to be very good. Spinach is one of my favorites, and lettuce is pretty good too. I love snacking on cherry tomatoes.

theres a more complete description of the fasciated snake, most of the common names in those volumes are not in use today. hope this helps! tumblr wont let me send the link, but it was also called the wampum snake or better the coluber fasciatus

That’s really interesting because Coluber fasciatus is a really archaic name for a species of Water Snake and the picture really doesn’t register as a Water Snake to me at all! Wampum Snakes also appear to be a somewhat archaic name given to a species of Kingsnake which is also super duper funny because I don’t think it look much like a King either. 

Though mistaken identity or just incorrect representation by the artist isn’t out of the question, or even that uncommon, way back when so I’m sure it’s most likely supposed to be some kind of a Water Snake though it may not be the most accurate depiction out there.

It’s incredible how far biological illustration and taxonomy evolved. Thanks for the information!

We've had 80's here already. But it's chillier tonight than it's been - hence my (probably overcautious) bringing everything in for the night. It's not that it's going to be that cold (39 degrees), it's just that I worry they would be shocked by the sudden change (lol lol South Carolina).

(Although in any universe, the tomatoes and watermelons and pumpkins and stuff like that would have to be brought in for 39 degrees, because that really is too cold for them.)
