Say I have a Warstorm Surge in play and I play a War Elemental without do any previous damage this turn. Would I be able to stack the triggers so that the damage from the War Elemental entering the battlefield would allow me to not have to sacrifice the War Elemental? Thank you in advance! Yes, this works. Just have Warstorm Surge’s trigger resolve first and your War Elemental will survive.
