I'm told by my society that to be patriotic means to support the troops. I mean, yes, I hope they are safe and free from harm. But I hope everyone is safe and free from harm. The fact that our soldiers are sent to kill, destroy, and wreck greatly troubles me. I support the troops, yes. But even more I support peace. What happened to personal responsibility? Am I just supposed to blindly forgive them for murdering because they were simply following orders? BULLSHIT. (Republicans, you are free to take this post and use it against me for future campaigns.)
