Imagine Steve working for Torchwood, and gets whisked away by the Doctor when he comes to Earth.
Steve Rogers knew Jack Harkness from the war. A captain, just like him, whom Steve rescued from one of their many HYDRA infiltration.
Jack was supposed to be dead.
When Jack inexplicably approached him a few years later, asking him to join an operation called “Torchwood”, something about alien activity. With Bucky gone, and Peggy starting up an operation herself called, very tongue-and-cheek of her, SHIELD, Steve agreed. He doesn’t think anything stranger could happen to him.
He’s wrong.
"Tosh, I - agh, a little help here?” Steve yelps, wrangling with a tentacle which abruptly whipped out from the darkness. For all his super-human strength and reflexes, nothing ever prepared him for a surprise ambush by a rogue creature.
"Stand down." Toshiko yells, voice echoing in the cave, slowly advancing with her gun pointed steadily at the shadow of the creature. The alien warbles loudly and starts thrashing -- bringing Steve along with the ride. "We don't mean to hurt you!" She cocks her gun.
"Wait! Wait!" Jack's voice echos in the distance, and Steve can hear some additional footsteps which don't sound like Owen's or Ianto's.
"Sorry miss!" A voice calls out, "It's me, the Doctor, remember me? Put the poor man down." The creature purrs and very abruptly drops Steve on his face.
"Ow." Steve groans.
"Apologies. Just looking for her mum, that one." The man says. He's white, with brown hair. He straightens up his navy blazer and brushes off his long brown coat. A black woman in a rust colored leather jacket appears after him. "Hurt herself on the way down. How're you doing, miss?" The thing- she, Steve quickly corrects himself, makes a few clicking noises. "Good, good good."
"Who are you? And you?" Steve asks, still on the ground, nodding towards the man and the woman.
"The Doctor. He's a Time Lord." Jack answers for him, as the man -- no, alien -- seems to be too preoccupied talking to his... alien friend? God help him, Steve still hasn't gotten used to this yet.
"And I'm Martha. Martha Jones." Martha says, holding out a hand to help him up. "Also a doctor. but not the kind he is."
"Thanks." Steve grunts. "What's going on?"
"So," The Doctor claps. "cut to the chase Captain, need a bit of help. You were involved with, uh, the take down of ah, er, HYDRA, yes? Well there's a, uh, bit of a future thing, a time thing, doubling up and-"
"HYDRA reforms in the future?" Steve says, alarmed.
"There's a rift in time, HYDRA's influences are leaking through to secure databases in the future. You're the one who knows HYDRA workings the best, and your history with alien technology will help further."
"I have been detecting a little more Rift activity than usual, but I didn't think it would be something as monumental as this. Perhaps a re-calibration is in order..."
"You have a Rift activity detector? You've got to show me that sometime." Martha says, and she and Toshiko share a smile.
"Anyway, coming with us?"
"Uh, sure?" Steve still isn't sure what's going on.
"Fantastic!"

//*shrugs.* Well you tend to agree with the common opinion on here, whereas I don’t so you’ll probably like it more then me. I did like the diverse cast, and the acting, but I felt it didn’t really have much plot and the story lacked depth IMHO.
Yeah, I guess we'll see. I was gonna download it but utorrent doesn't wanna connect to the peers.

//You’re not missing much to be honest. It seems like Tumblr made it a bigger deal then it really was- at least to me. *Shrugs* I mean it wasn’t bad but, not exactly the best either.
I know a lot of people, mostly friends, who love it and say it's great and I'm tempted to finally getting around to watch it mostly because Mako Mori and the very diverse cast in general. But mostly Mako Mori.
