I made this work when I was 21 and studying at the LSE in response to the war in Bosnia which so disturbed me. War continues to feature in my work. But will politicians ever learn from the lessons of war? No wars, past or present, can ever be forgotten. This work landed me my first exhibition in Manchester, but I told the gallery that none of the Bosnia artwork was for sale, the work sold out, I was so disgusted that I vowed never to sign with a gallery and the paintings that were sold I recreated in oils. No one should profit from wars and that includes artists. Art is for the people, all the people of the world to enjoy and my pigmentexplosion gallery is just that art for all just as I am campaigning for mental health 4 all #warandart #bosniawar #newspapercollage #pastelandink #pigmentexplosion #sanchitaislam
