I've been trying to find a story I read before, gave kudos to (at least I believe I did - it was an awesome story,) and forgot to bookmark on AO3.
It's a Sylvania Fic (possibly a series of fics,) I can't remember if it's political marriage or reluctant allies who fall for each other, and there are some awesome naval battles. It is NOT part of the Age of Sail series (super awesome, highly recommend.)
One of the minor themes is elfish naming customs, and how using different names for people indicates various things. (At one point Jaina wants someone to go protect Sylvanas but the person in question refuses to abandon Jaina until Jaina uses a certain name.)
Jaina is a badass at sea and inspires a belf pally to be awesome with her (not Liadrin, an OC, but I think Liadrin witnesses it) there is a ranger cuddle pile and Sylvanas begins reforming their bonds by doing stuff they used to do pre-Arthas like stitching designs into their clothes, and Jaina makes a deal with a disgruntled sea monster to protect ogrimmar harbor while there is a massive death knight attack going on. Nathanos is surly but not an asshole.
I've been going through my read history (but it's a lot and hard to sift through when opening a story moves everything back because there are more read stories to list) and rather than assuming it is one of the deleted stories, I figured I would ask if anyone out there knows what I'm talking about.
