'Well look at you' for Celeste and Arthur orrrr Charles and Serena
The old married couple, because I’m so weak for this ship honestly
Celeste and Arthur: (Modern AU)
“Well, look at you,” Arthur muttered, laying his coat across the back of the couch. “Didn’t pack any of your own pajamas?”
Celeste turned over her shoulder and grinned, taking a long sip from her coffee mug. Her hair was wild, mussed by sleep and morning kisses, a halo of messy auburn curls. “I didn’t have much of a chance to stop by my apartment last night. I thought you wouldn’t mind.” Arthur’s grey button-down shirt was a good look for her - sleeves rolled up to her elbows, like he would always have them, the hem of the shirt just barely reaching the middle of her thigh, her legs bare.
“Certainly not,” he chuckled quietly. After setting his bag down on the table he moved closer to her and wrapped an arm around her waist. She pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, humming at the feel of his freshly-shaven skin. “I like this shirt on you, quite a bit actually.”
“Oh, really? Are you sure you wouldn’t like it better if it was off of me?” It sounded so ridiculous said like that, that she couldn’t even say it with a straight face. Arthur snorted a little and shook his head, though there was a glint in his eyes that betrayed his keen interest in such an idea. When he didn’t make any move, though, Celeste just shrugged and smiled taking another sip from her mug.
“What’s got you headed out the door so early?” Celeste asked, raising an eyebrow. She glanced towards his bag and coat on the table, and then up at the clock. “Your lecture doesn’t start for another two hours. I thought we were going to grade some essays today, that’s the only reason I’m even out of bed right now.”
With a smirk, Arthur shook his head. “I thought I might get some work done in my office. Maybe have some extended office hours.”
Celeste downed the rest of her coffee and set the mug down on the counter, her arms then reaching up to encircle his neck. “Or you could just stay here and work since, you know, I’m already awake.”
“Hmm, that’s tempting.” Arthur sighed and looked back towards his bag for a few moments, as though it were a difficult decision. Finally, with a grin, he turned to Celeste and pulled her even closer, lips meeting hers. “I suppose I could just stay here and drive you back to campus. The students can email me if they have questions about the last assignment I gave them.”
Her hands slid down his arms until she caught hold of his wrists, and with a gleam in her eyes she pulled him back towards his bedroom.
“Oh, are we grading papers in the bedroom, now?” he smirked, and Celeste rolled her eyes. As she shut the door behind them, she pressed a gentle kiss to his neck, and spoke against his skin,
“I think the work can wait.”
