“Ah! Jasper!” The normally timid gem couldn’t help but greet her with    such an excited exclamation at the sight of their superior. After    everything that had happened- after everything that Ruby and the    rest of their squad had been through with the Crystal Gems, they    were sure that Jasper had been shattered or, at the very least,    defeated and stored away somewhere where she couldn’t reform. 

Ruby quickly ran up to greet the other gem, arms waving frantically    before going to cling at the taller’s leg. Their excitement was    overflowing, but at the same time, they wanted to be sure that Jasper    was real! They’d been tricked by the Crystal Gems before, and wanted    to make sure that this really was Jasper standing in front of them and    not some sort of hologram or some other tricky Earth technology like that.

“You’re okay! We’ve been looking everywhere for you! We thought you’d been hurt!”

         LEATHER AND ARMOR CREAKS as her hands wrap tightly around her rifle, index finger dancing dangerously close to the trigger. ❛ I don’t know what you’re HERE for or what you WANT, but you’re threatening the WRONG person... ❜

        “Whoa, Jasper? Back for more, huh? Well, I’ve been practising a         new trick I think you’re gonna get a real kick out of!” Unable to         hold back their grin, Smoky shifted into a battle-ready stance.         They couldn’t help but have fun when they fought, and since         Jasper was the only gem they had fought so far, they were eager         for more action.
