Great thanks to the @gertrudeherbertart for hosting me as their guest to tour the #WaresFolly property. Completed in 1818 by Senator Nicholas Ware and resold for the Augusta Art Club in 1937 it was dedicated by club member Olivia Herbert in memoriam for her daughter Gertrude Herbert-Dunn. The still commonly local add-on effect (& ventilation vents installed to the flooring) were by Mrs. Herbert including a rear terrace and elevator, but what’s truly notable are the lack of closets and the staircase. Some of The “Augusta University” Art & Design Department’s latest works by “Chadwick Tolley” and others are picked by me for your visual enjoyment, but if you have time I could expect their bookshelves to include great reads for the inquisitive mind.
