You absolute fucker. You are evil and I expect my inbox to be graced with any form of warframe fandom media (meme, doodle, fic blurb) made by your hand as a form of damages for tarnishing my reputation like this and for the psychic damage you have caused me. Before I begin, for context, this ask is in reference to a post i reblogged that suggested an ask game where you have to answer with praise to the topic request. In this case: Rivens. Goodie.
So, without further ado, let us begin:
In my opinion, rivens do two things fairly decently. One, since theyre always in demand, veiled rivens are a great way to scrounge up some extra pocket plat to make sure one has enough to buy whatever cosmetic caught their eye in the market. Thus they're a unique and novel way to earn plat without having to trade away more useful items like prime parts (useful because they can be converted to ducats).
Secondly and lastly, they are a cute little way to spice up a weapon you otherwise might not care about and help inspire you to try out some...less than meta weaponry. While incarnons (which for the record i think are a lot healthier and are a system I adore) are more to push specific old weapons to the forefront of the meta, rivens in contrast serve as a novel way to help the filler weapons stay at least a little fresh in our minds (hell, I have a Dragon Nikana riven without whom I probably would've forgotten that weapon exists). Zaw and Kitgun rivens are...debatable, but they too inspire you to use these weapons and potentially even experiment to find the best loadout for a chamber/strike that fits your riven's stats.
