I wish I could adequately express how much patience wildlife photography often takes. If you don't want to wait for images, you may, like many, find yourself just "continuous shooting" thousands and thousands of images. There is nothing wrong with that. But what I've found is that so many photographers don't want to then go through all of those images to find the "one" they wanted. My strategy is different. So much of the joy of photography for me is waiting for the image. 99% of the time I do hand hold the camera, I sit for as long as I need to, and I hold my breath to steady myself for the shot. I say this because warthogs were such a fun challenge. They are prey animals and so they were constantly on the move with those tails held high. This was a rare moment of stillness where I was able to capture the entire body.
