Warmth curls onto Nathaniel’s features as he stands to welcome Evadne. Delilah was out for the day, but Nathaniel was always keen to welcome old friends in his home. Even though he had long “retired” from the Wardens, he was not so remiss to think he’d simply shed his duties as one all together.

“Commander--” there is a prodding joke as he gives her a slight bow, “Happy to see you alive and in one piece after you disappeared without so much as a trace” Nathaniel notes, some weariness leaving him as his hand meets solid shoulder. “As usual, my bow is yours should you ever need it” he adds gingerly.

            “   May I ask why you use two blades instead of one?   ”   Fingers brush over cold steel.   The blade’s edge tugs at her fingertips and leaves a faint line in the skin,  almost deep enough to bleed.   “   I know very little about weapons or combat,  though I’d like to  ---  If you’d be so kind as to educate me.   ”
