South Africa is struggling with more than half-a-side back to the pavilion against India Board President’s XI in their first innings of the two-day warm up game at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
Trailing a 296-run first innings total by the IBP XI, the visitors struggled to get rid of the domestic Indian bowlers as they came down to 57/5 in the 16th over. But when it was looking like in-form AB De Villiers and Temba Bavuma handled the situation, Bavuma got out after adding 54 runs with AB.
He scored a steady 15 runs before all-rounder Hardik Pandya knocked him out.
Till the last update, the visitors are on 156/6 after 39 overs as De Villiers and wicket-keeper/batsman Dane Vilas are at the crease.
De Villiers is on 50 while Vilas is batting on 25.
Shardul Thakur has bagged four wickets yet while Nathu Singh and Pandya have pocketed a wicket each.
Previously, the hosts managed to score 296 in their first innings. Indian Test specialist KL Rahul and wicket-keeper/batsman Naman Ojha scored half centuries. Rahul scored 72 while Ojha played a wonderful knock of 52.
Karun Nair and Pandya also scored couple of 40s.
Elsewhere, Dale Steyn and Simon Harmer pocketed three wickets each.
