He stuffed something in his costume's pocket. Oh! Look at that! A large hole had just, somehow, magically appeared in the middle of one of that abandoned mansion's huge doors. How convenient!! Now nothing could stop Pump from entering into such a spooky place! Do not ask.

A gloved hand slid through the splintery hole and got a hold of the doorknob above it. With a subtle click, the door gave itself in with an audible creeeeeeak, allowing light to pour in front outside. As a result, a long, menacing shadow was casted in front of the seven-year-old who, needless to say, looked very happy to be there.

He wanted to find something spooky in there! Except that that something found him, instead. A sudden gust of wind was quick to close the aforementioned door with a loud BANG!! Bringing darkness to the entryway and managing to get him to jump! And to chuckle for a moment.

(It was dark... but manageable.) Digging into his pockets once again, Pump pulled a silvery zippo lighter and brought some warm, orange light to his surroundings. (Dust, old-timey furniture, tacky wallpaper...) Yes, he was ready to explore!

✦ ☾ ✂️ ☽ ✦ → " Oh dear... " Though the charming cat tried his hardest to wipe the smile from the barber's face, he never seems to frown. That is-- not counting the fact that his smile was currently dangling upside down from the hook of some industrial machine, bound and tied, his golden hair fanning side to side as he swung. Like a pendulum. Dizzying, and surely, quite irritating to the feline, especially if he mistakes it for an attempt to shake loose. They have worked so hard to keep him from... doing what he does, after all.

But as he swung to and fro the barber's smile grew, until on one pass by he suddenly bore in his teeth... a single, thin, little razor blade. Not to cut but to spit with the most shocking velocity at the peak of his swing and hitting a distant button that suddenly causes the loudest of buzzing and him, on his hook, to swing back to the other side and release his chain down just in time, all the way down, off a ledge.

" Toodles. "

And were the cat to look over that ledge and seek the barber he would see only the severed remains of his restraints on the distant concrete floor and his dear friend Fred... already out of sight. But, not gone, no, not hardly.

The barber still owes him a haircut.

"mel, you take one good look at me and you can answer that question yourself--" oh ken saw this coming from a mile away. it was always the same, every single time she caught word of him and the other members of the smiling death heading out on a mission?-- it was only a matter of time before that same old question rang in his ears. but of course, the answer would always be the same.

"you know we can't risk that! how many times do i gotta drill that into your THICK SKULL-- it's not like we're goin' out there stealing candy from babies. no, we're gettin' violent, bloody, and god knows WHAT else!" hands are thrown out to his sides in exaggeration, coming down to plant them upon his hips. "there's already gonna be carnage, and i don't need YOURS bein' among them, capiche?"

The small, skinny little rat was sneaking forward on all fours, his mouth practically watering at the sight of the food on the other... He can try and snatch it away if he was careful.

As quietly as he could, a tiny clawed hand reached out to try and take it.

lilli & a.rktos

this is kind of a given in the film , but a.rktos stroking lilli's hair was a primary form of affection- or the closest thing to it . its left a strange aftertaste for lilli- comforting or patronizing depending on the situation . either it will be received with thankfulness or disgust .

an evening routine they had was lilli telling stories- it started as a bargain for her to stay up , & developed into routine . i feel like this could happen in either / both settings , though maybe for varying reasons . either way , lilli figures out rather quickly that a.rktos was more partial towards stories that have a sense of melancholy to them .

in the show , lilli had gotten her name sometime before tblga saw her on the mountain . she had tried to communicate w/ a.rktos- most likely in a dream . intentionally or not , giving her a name was his first acknowledgement of her , & although he didn't accept her as real , the deed was done .

lilli feels a sort of responsibility for show!a.rktos , due to her needing to be self-sufficient & realizing early that a.rktos isn't just ... "her father ." yes , she's outspoken , but there's a reason she comes back . & sometimes it's the same reason why she's inclined to leave .

tblga & show!a.rktos

outside the cheery stuff , when a.rktos hones in on his nastier side , tblga doesn't take it lightly . there's a line between the usual shenanigans vs. his occasional bursts of malice that tblga is acutely aware of- even if a.rktos isn't . the guy can & does hurt others , & while he can't bring himself to kill- there were some close calls for tblga & for a while , he wasn't sure the a.rktos would pull any punches .

that being said- if either one of them aren't there to do their role , the other notices . tblga will turn up in eisworld to voice is concerns if a.rktos is late for winter again or has gotten too quiet . he will be annoying about it .

a fine way tblga undermines a.rktos' villainy is simply… being silly . the palace is made of ice , so him slip-n-sliding along the floor or making faces at the distorted reflections of the castle walls while a.rktos is TRYING to monologue is . standard dragon behavior . class clown vs. uptight teacher type of nonsense .

ice cream is delicious & no dragon child is too good for it . tblga got too excited his first try & a.rktos tricked him into getting a brain freeze . it was great .

" Your majesty, I must say I never had thought it that way... looking tough or even been in fights..." She looks at the cape again. Hard working, rough life of multiple close calls and lucky escapes. Each time, she had escaped, for now. " ...though, I have been fighting for my life... running away. Cats, birds, humans... even rats."
