NBC all day long
5/8:
Brother: I agreed with Lee Dixon on a tackle on Cesc over GLS. Something is wrong with me.
Me: I must be getting soft in my old age because I actually found myself laughing at some of his jokes and agreeing with him during this broadcast. But GLS takes the piss out of him a bunch during it, too, which I liked even more. [Among other things, he said he’d apply for a job to get away from Dixon and also called him old.]
Brother: Would you rather NBC had the FA Cup final, but you only got Lee Dixon solo or let Fox do what they want?
Me: Oh god, NBC all day long. The only Fox commentator I like is Warren Barton. I can tolerate Dixon.
Brother: Yeah, but Lee Dixon with Chelsea v. Arsenal.
Me: I know, but what morons will they get to actually do the match at Fox.
Brother: For the amount of money they spend on football coverage, they put no money or thought into their commentators. NBC is the best and I basically only get cable so I can watch NBCSN and would change providers if I lost just this one channel.
Me: I know I talk shit about Dixon, but he's a fuckload better than anyone on Fox (except maybe Barton, who I do like). I mean, DR. JOE?!
Brother: I would listen to a game that was only Dr. Joe to see what he would say. I would also count the number of times he was wrong. He can somehow be in a game for 3-4 minutes and say 2-3 things wrong; imagine him trying to go for ninety.

Ian Cruise:
When asked whether he believes Pardew will still be in charge on Tyneside by the end of the season, however, Barton confessed: “I’d love him to be there because that means the club would be successful, But my gut feeling is ‘no’.”
It would not…

Warren Barton is not a name often found in the same sentence as 'great goal' but his equaliser for Newcastle in this classic encounter against Liverpool in 1997 is surely worthy of the tag. Liverpool had raced into a three goal lead at half time but were pegged back to 3-2 with goals from Keith Gillespie and Faustino Asprilla. Then up stepped Barton with this rasper in the 88th minute to send the Newcastle fans wild. It was all to no avail though as Robbie Fowler headed Liverpool's winner in injury time, but Barton's sumptuous strike is the goal that will be remembered from an epic encounter.
