Francine comes from a long line of chosen vessels to powerful elemental spirits. Hers is one of rock and bark, inherited from her father after he stepped down as King to make way for her reign.

She spent her whole life training and preparing to rule, and didn't take her responsibilities lightly. As Guardian of the Supernatural, her duty was to keep monsterkind safe and thriving; humankind be damned. Unfortunately, this inevitably led to The Colossus War; a tedious and bloody conflict that she'd spend majority of her reign trying to end.

War wasn't something she wanted to pursue or took pleasure in, but battle and strategy were second nature to her. She hated to admit it, but she was in her element, just as her father had taught her to be. With all of her focus spent on governing and commanding her army, she found it difficult to be vulnerable enough with others to make friends; only a few in her inner circle were ever able to see her smile.

Francine did have a crush on Amylla for a time, but between the War itself and Amylla's unpredictable antics with Warren, she never fully allowed herself to indulge. It would've been too irresponsible to have feelings for someone who broke the laws she'd put in place. Her duty had to come first, every time.
