Back in the early days of this fandom, when Madoka news was actually hard to find, there was a Tumblr blog called warrior kk who was the plug for magical girl news.
They were one of the first people I remember covering the concept trailer in detail and reporting that the Magia Record mobile game was in production, long before it ever released. They also drew these incredible images of Devil Homura with Sayaka as a corrupted knight at her side, and that visuals basically rewired my brain. That was the moment I started seeing Devil Homura and Sayaka as my pairing.
I found their blog around 2016, right when my channel was starting to blow up off concept trailer analysis. From there I fell down the rabbit hole: they answered one of my asks, handed me a stack of Devil Homura x Sayaka fanfic recs, and suddenly I wasn’t just watching Madoka anymore, I was living in that pairing. Because of them, Devil Homura and Sayaka became my favorite dynamic in the whole series.
Even though warrior kk doesn’t post anymore and their blog’s inactive, their impact never really left. I’ve made countless videos about Devil Homura and Sayaka since then, and I’ve mentioned them by name in a bunch of those uploads. The way I cover that pairing, the way I talk about Devil Homura at all, is directly traced back to what they were doing on Tumblr almost a decade ago.
So this is just a shout‑out to one of the old Gs of our fandom. Thank you, warrior kk, for breaking Madoka news when it was hard to come by, for introducing me to Devil Homura x Sayaka, and for nudging my channel in a direction I’m still running with today. I’ve got more Devil Homura and Sayaka videos on the way, and every time I work on one, I still think about those old posts.
