@warrior-wraith, continued from ✿ :
Wraith, blonde hair and grey eyed, stared at the woman before him with a sort of soft adoration to have not startled at his sudden speaking, thought he hadn’t meant to spook her in the first place. Adorned in a thick jacket and jeans, he stepped forward, his axe resting in its sling across his back. “Forgive me,” He started. “I only meant that it would be unwise to go alone. I’ve had friends and loved ones become lost to the fae and I would hate to have let you simply venture on your own.”
He nodded toward the axe upon his back and pulled a stocking hat onto his head, his dark blond hair poking out in strange ways because of the static that came with it. With a smile, he straightened and offered his hand. “Let me come with you?”
She braced her hands on her hips, head cocked, trying to look important. She had to be someone important, or she wouldn’t have those the metallic, scar-like markings on her arms and hands, right? They were hidden for the most part, by her sleeves, but surely far from invisible. She couldn’t help but smile at the sight of his hair beneath the hat, but she could help herself from trusting him blindly.
“You’re not a fairy yourself, are you?” she asked, looking down at his own hand. hesitating to so much as show him her own. “Do you make a habit of going up to strange girls standing outside a gateway to the other world and offering your services?” She was dubious, but not suspicious. Polly wasn’t against the idea of travelling with a companion in the least, but she wasn’t sure she wanted to go through with a complete stranger with an ax strapped to his back.
