For several years, someone very dear to me identified as ace (now as demi, mostly as “this is stupid”) and I couldn’t believe how people I loved, who were very open-minded with my bisexuality, my best friend’s queerness, and my other friend’s being trans, well I couldn’t believe how they reacted to asexuality. You must have heard it all: “Maybe they’re sick,” “Maybe it’s trauma” “They just need to find the right someone”. And I was like, dude, you’re saying exactly what people have said to me, to my trans friend, to gay and lesbians a decade ago. But for them, wanting sex, desiring people was normal, and not caring about sex MUST be a defect, right? *massive eyeroll*

I consider myself lucky to live in a time and a place where I can be who I am and love who I want without too much trouble. And if there’s trouble, it’s a secret to no one that I bark and bite back without restraint, because being in that sweet spot of intersectionality helps at spotting the bullshit miles away. 

So I barked and bit in defence of my ace friend, as I did for my trans fried, my queer bff, for myself. I’ll do it for you and for the people who just are tired of the bullshit coming from the lgbta+ community and just want to have a safe spot to belong to without the people who are supposed to love and support you.

tl:dr: Zero is a number, “none of the above” is an answer, asexuality is an orientation, people deserve respect.

I recommend using EasyReader (or a similar extension, but that’s the one I use), you can select the text you want to read and it creates an overlay that makes it readable.

Vampire: Someone offers you a chance at immortality. Do you take it, and why or why not?

I'd first have to ask if there were consequences involved. You don't just get offered immortality without there being consequences. Never seeing mortal friends again, never going out into the sunlight, never being able to eat garlic again? Sounds pretty consequential to me.

Of course, on the other hand if there are no strings attached, hell yeah.

Witch: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

Remove a lot of the power politicians have over decisions that would damage the people and their lives and give it to the people. The people can accurately assess how much they need something more than politicians can I believe.

Faerie: If you could get away with anything, what would you do?

Walk onto a plane bound for England without having to pay for the ticket :D

I think my laptop and the internet connection it gets qualifies for this |D Where I live it's just too hard to get into the city each and every day and meet up with friends. My laptop and my internet connection are sometimes my only contact with the outside world.
