On this day in 1985, Rainbow Brite & the Star Stealer was released! 🌈Rainbow Brite was one of my favorite cartoons as a child and when this movie came out I loved it so much & watched it repeatedly. This movie was a big inspiration for the Warrior Rainbow Brite armor I had designed. It made me think about the fact that without star sprinkles, Rainbow has no powers and what would she do to defend herself. So I came up with the idea of a battle armored version & sword. With the use of star sprinkles, she could release the power of the Rainbow from her sword, and if the star sprinkles ever ran out.....DUH, she still has a sword! HA! This was my first time ever making armor & it is completely made from craft foam. The sword is EVA foam covered with Worbla.
