The internet has brought us an immensity of options to chose from that's both amazing and overwhelming. You used to just consider the options around you that you were aware of, but now you can chose from so many different places, get informed on so many criterias to look at, get so many conflicting reviews, and "making the right choice" turns into a pages long study of whats and wheres and hows. Anyways guess who needs to buy a new fridge.
Make a computer backup!!!
Hi this is your friendly reminder to make a backup of your computer system and data on a separate hard drive! It only takes a few clicks and you never know when you’ll need it!!
Don’t know how to do it? Here’s how it works :)
1- Get an external hard drive. Yes you need to buy it but trust me there’s no price for your data safety in case your computer gets a virus or dies. You can make a backup on your computer too but like, if your computer dies that’s not really useful.
2- Open the back up and restore menu: either from Control Panel (all versions) or from Settings (recent versions).
From the control panel (all versions): System and maintenance > Backup and restore
From the Settings (for Windows 8 and after): Updates and security > Backup
Recent versions have a simpler backup interface but I advise you to still use the Windows 7 menu so you control exactly what and when you backup. For that, in the newer versions you’ll need to click the “Go to Backup and Restore (Windows 7)”
3- Create a backup + settings
Plug your drive in then set up your backup. All the different options are in the Windows 7 menu, you can chose which drive to backup to, which files to save exactly, whether or not you want to program it, etc. It will be kept in memory for your next backups as well.
For a complete backup you need both data backup (the files on your computer) and a system image (your configurations of windows, user settings and data, etc - it’s a checkpoint in case you get a virus). You can make a system image separately or include it in your backup (by default it does it).
A backup isn’t directly the files themselves, it’ll need to be restored with the menu first.
4- Backup
Once your done with the settings, you can do your backup. It will take a while! (My first backups took around an hour, my latest one took like 6 hours lmao because i put so much files on it and my PC is weak) But you can still use your computer during the backup, your computer is just gonna have a bit of limited performances because doing something else at the same time.
Make a backup regularly, big backup like once a month would be ideal!
new trick to make me clean my apartment a bit :
launch a software/game that takes a lil bit of time to load
while the screen is loading, keep myself busy by starting to clean some bits (empty dishwasher, put trash in the trashbin...)
once i’m started, keep jumping from one cleaning task to another as soon as i think about it (even if that means not finishing some bits, better small bits done everywhere than nothing done at all)
when you realise you haven’t touched your tablet in so long
Finally. I’m done watching BATDR. I can finally remove these from my blocked tags lmao
i just saw someone walk out of a classroom wearing platform crocs.
as a future architect and urban engineer, i am sorry to inform you that i hate the “society if” meme pics
is this really what you want society to look like ?? cold blank materials instead of material diversity ... glass everywhere without protection so it’s either really hot inside during summer or it’s special performant glass that pollutes so much to produce ... buildings too big, meaning you loose the notion of neighbourhood and people are seen as a mass instead of individuals + all the apartments in it are made the same which leads no space for creativity or identity ...
we need to find a better meme pic for this u.u
