Yknow the actual drama of the harrowhark/ianthe arm scene is that if it were Gideon, Harrow would have put the effort into making a full arm again. Does Ianthe know this? Does Ianthe realize that Harrowhark would pursue any end to make Gideon Whole again, even if it’s messy flesh magic?

The Locked Tomb is not some morally sweet love story in space between Harrow and Gideon. It is a gothic space opera which explores what happens when a man gets to play god with all of earth and space. We get a special look at Jod’s former friends and the Hell he created for them as well as a bittersweet story of two young people trying to find their way back to each other (despite trauma hurting the years they ALREADY had with each other) if you can’t see the parallels tazmuir has created between all the character relationships we have seen in the books, you’re reading the wrong books.

Camilla & Palamedes, Ianthe & Coronabeth, Abigail & Magnus are some of the major dynamics the books explore that are explicitly shown to the reader and Harrow & Gideon in some capacity as a way to mirror some aspects of their own relationship. These relationships all have some component that goes beyond platonic or familial

I miss when video game DLC was like genuine iterations and interesting new ideas that may not have been perfect for the base game but still would be fun to interact with. And like not DLC is base game content we cut on purpose (pls buy the preorder deluxe version which just becomes the deluxe version once the game is released), cosmetics, extra areas that also should have probably been available before the DLC released, more of the same type of radiant and/or sidequests in the base game, does not bring favored characters back to allow for further canon material to develop their character, etc etc etc

So many beloved DLC I have now been able to play as a working adult with my own money is how WORTH IT they were. And I get so upset, because huge formative years of mine were spent with video games, and so I missed this cool and amazing thing. But that’s a small problem to the fact that nowadays these DLCs mostly bullshit. It’s not mass effect citadel, it’s knowing that we can monetize the shit out of cosmetics that would 10 years ago would be accessible via a cheat code on the main menu.

I am so upset that games are amazing, because they are the most monetizable reward entertainments that our ape brains can latch, and this only upsets me because of extreme capitalism :((

Lots of people talking about the micro aggressions Shuro experienced in Laois’s party but I haven’t seen anybody talk about how he only suffered through those because he had a crush on Falin, Laois’s sister. Marcille is also in Laois’s party mostly because of Falin, and yet she has not gotten into a fist-fight with Laois about any of the things that have bothered her. Marcille actually communicates with Laois very directly about the things she wants, thinks, and dislikes. Marcille isn’t even as upset as Chilchuck when she finds out Laois was being Laois and spilled the beans about the ancient magic. This is something that impacts Marcille so much more than Laois being an annoyance in regards to Shuro’s crush on Falin.

The fact that Shuro thought he could continue to pursue Falin without trying to understand or communicate better with Laois doesn’t make me feel good about his presence in the party at least. I’m not saying he’s an awful and bad guy, what I’m saying is that Shuro had an inherent disrespect toward Falin that he wasn’t addressing because “ooooh cute girl” but he literally hated her brother, whom she is remarkably close to.

Of course, the situation is resolved, but this situation was much more nuanced than “Laois is autistic” and “Toshiro experienced racism”. Falin is a key aspect of their dynamic and Laois still doesn’t get how he was disrespected so much because Shuro couldn’t be near Falin without also dealing with Laois, so he essentially pretended to be Laois’s friend. It’s just icky. You can’t hope to marry somebody and then suffer through a horrible relationship with your spouse’s family; Falin isn’t just going to leave Laois (and the dungeon for that matter) and go to the Eastern archipelago.

Listen listen I know Gideon has never had sex before and I know Harrow has never had sex before but when they do Fuck Hard and Raw in Alecto the Ninth (after “The Wedding”… I’m not delusional. It will be Ianthe’s wedding but Griddlehark’s honeymoon) , I know it is going to be the most glorious thing for them and I know this for a few reasons

1) Gideon avidly READS porn so even tho she maybe has no experience I know she has the ability to come with a whole bunch of nasty dirty talk and that will cause Harrow to collapse bc the most horrible thing you could ever do to Harrow is make her shy and bashful and Gideon will do that

2) Harrow will let herself be fucked BUT then her top tendencies will emerge and she will lay Gideon down like she deserves and I know Gideon is easy. Gideon is not difficult to please and Harrow will take full advantage of that.
