The worst thing about ai is that it has convinced so many people who are basically talentless that they have useful things to contribute to any given community.
Like, it used to be if you didn’t have the skills to do something, you have to practice unless you got the hang of it or give up, but now people are just posting ai slop and getting rewarded with tons of interactions and praise.
Don’t know how to draw? Now you can just post a bunch of ai “art”. Don’t know how to make cc? Just ai generate stuff. Want to write a novel but can’t write past the grade two level? Ai. Want to post about Minecraft but can’t build or take pretty pictures? Ai generate builds that are impossible to do in game and call them “Minecraft ideas”. What to be a producer but can’t play an instrument? Ai. What to be a MUA but have Shane Dawson levels of makeup skills? Ai. Ai, ai, ai.
It’s like it’s convinced the lazy and untalented that they have useful contributions. I would rather you just post something and have it be bad (like everyone does when they’re starting out) than just fall back on ai and clog up my social media feeds with junk.
