Hello, my name is Ayanna (EYE-yan-UH)! I have been writing online in some form since 2012, and I started WARWICK in December 2020. WARWICK is a family drama set in the fictional North American monarchy of Sunderland. The story follows members of the reigning Warwick dynasty through their inner lives, often strained by Sunderland's constitutional monarchy and strict social hierarchy.

The house has had a revolving door of tenants since the 1960s. After their marriage in 1968, it became the residence of Louis, then Prince of Danforth, and his wife, Irene. The couple quickly surrendered the property when Louis acceded to the throne in 1970. Later, the king's mother, Queen Katherine, and brother, Prince Clarence, moved into Lennox House.
Prince Carlence later moved into an apartment in Rockcliff Palace following his marriage in 1980. In 2003, Katherine's grandson, James, Prince of Danforth, moved into Lennox House with his wife and two sons. The young family occupied the bottom two floors of Lennox House, while Queen Katherine maintained an apartment on the third.
Following the death of Prince James in 2017, Princess Tatiana moved with her children to Rockcliff Palace. Queen Katherine remained in residence at Lennox House until her own death in 2018. Today, the house remains unoccupied, although select rooms are open to the public all year around.

hi there! i love the authenticity of your world-building in your recent posts. how did you research them?
I read a lot of historical fiction on royal and socialite figures for inspiration. They are full of primary sources, like letters and journals, that help so much with voice and inspiration. Like all those French and German phrases I use are from these books.
I don't want George I (b. 1839) sounding like Prince Alex (b. 2002), you know? So that helps.

She had six kids, but George I and Alexandra thought her and Gerogie were too young to properly raise/educated the children, so they were mainly raised by their grandparents.
After years of begging, MM was allowed to raise the youngest, Princess Alexandra, and eventually, the older children as well.
over 800 wildfires are burning in canada and whole communities are burning to the ground, yet americans still get on the internet every single year and complain as if it's something we do for fun
On top of that, Canadians send firefighters and response personnel down when American communities are burning. A Canadian helicopter pilot died a few days ago fighting the fires in Colorado… and all we get is whining when it’s our turn.
Anyways, here are some resources for those who are able to help (via indigenousclimateaction on IG):
do you think you'd ever write some kind of epistolary novel/prose version of the warwicks someday? i love the excerpts you write for the extras!
Yeah, honestly, I'm torn between being more concise and writing a full novel format with prose. Either way, there will be more extras because they are so, so fun!
what has been your favorite sim to recreate/makeover for the warwicks?
Out of the main characters? Tatiana. So nice to get rid of her yellow hair, give her some unique features and make her look like a woman in her fifties. I made her whole family, too, and it was so fun keeping some features and passing down others, making her look similar to her sisters but not identical. Oh, that was fun!
I know you've posted about royal residences before but what's your favorite royal residence in Sunderland? 👀
That's a good question! I think it has to be Woodbine Castle since it's the largest, it has the most history since it's a bit older, and aesthetically it has the grandest interiors
I’m afraid to post because I’m afraid it’ll look shitty. Any advice?
Love your story and gorgeous sims!!! 🩷
So, want you to go on my blog's archive and go alllll the way back to December 2019. Look at some of those posts, and tell me if they're the same quality as what I post now.
My advice is that we all start somewhere, and you should start posting. You have to learn to do something bad before you can do it well, and honestly, at the time, I thought my early posts looked awesome, and your posts will too, based on your experience.
Do you have any tips for making friends for black simmers? You seem to have a lot of insight
This is an amazing question, and it's a question I'm going to expand into just interacting in general because, when it comes to making friends, my MO is this:
I would reblog this a million times if I could. Move in silence, be generally polite, but keep it pushing. That doesn't mean that no one on here is worth being a friend, but in general (this entire post is based on generalization, FYI), there is too much emotional insincerity and immaturity in Sims spaces. It's very similar to working in a corporate, majority-white but also progressive space and I would not recommend involving yourself in any particular clique or a gatekeepy friend group because it never ends well. So here are some rules of engagement for you:
In general . . .
This community is racist. Like extremely so, but since the Sims franchise is known to have a diverse audience, people will be defensive about it. It doesn't matter if a person is also a racial minority or queer; I have gotten anons that look like they were written by Dennis Duke. Like "N!gger, you should be hanging from a tree" levels of racism.
If you're a Black woman, this will manifest as people reading you as conceited, angry, and/or arrogant all the time, no matter what tone you use. I used to think that online it would be different because your appearance and tone are ambiguous, but no. People have their biases about Black women, and the second they learn you are Black, they will fill in the gaps with the biases. Doesn't matter if IRL you're shy, loud, light-skinned, fat, dark-skinned; your treatment and Blackness will be flattened into a stereotype, and people will react to you based on that stereotype.
This community rewards self-deprecation. Not only will people here constantly put themselves down, but they also look down on any display of self-confidence. So, if you consistently post about liking your work, your accomplishments, etc. People read that as arrogant. But honestly, you have to like yourself, you have to believe you're HER/HIM/THEM, it will make posting here so much more fun.
This community is passive-aggressive. The most insulting things people have done to me on here are intentionally passive and rely on you to fill in the blanks. Most of the time, it's ignoring you, saying ambigously rude things with "lol" tacked on at the end, responding with faux confusion or offence to mundane things, etc. Personally, I would ignore this and play it straight, but if it becomes a habit, ask what they mean.
You need to mind your own business. Do not insert yourself into random drama unless you're okay with being blocked or attacked by a bunch of people. Seriously, sometimes saying nothing is the best option.
You need to have that dog in you. Seriously, I think the best thing a Black woman can do is have that edge to them that makes people a little bit afraid of what you might say or do if you've been disrespected. Since this community is so passive-aggressive, that slight edge will keep most people silent because they fear direct confrontation. Also, in real life and online, people will just walk all over you if they sense you're soft.
Your opinions on other people are for the DMs, not the dashboard. Think someone's writing is awful or their Sims are ugly? We all have at some point, but the worst thing you can do is start publicly vague posting or snarking. Snarking a creator is for a PRIVATE direct message with ONE (1) close friend who you trust. It is NOT meant for the dashboard or even a "private" Discord server with multiple people in it, because I am telling you right now, whatever you say will get back to that person.
You are not responsible for someone else's feelings. I'm not talking about you messing up or saying something hurtful. I'm talking about you expressing yourself, and someone taking issue with that. Or you say, "I love pancakes," and a waffle fangirl gets in their feelings. Not your issue. Some of the most stressful experiences in this community were me feeling that I had to manage the emotions of fragile grown people. Having to be the one who has to apologize while knowing that if the roles were flipped, you're not getting shit
You have to let people be allowed to dislike you. You don't need to know why someone has blocked you, or waste time debating why you're a good person. Who cares? Someone who's a real friend will always give you the benefit of the doubt. If they're quick to drop you over a misunderstanding or mistake that's not a real friend.
The block button is free. So use it like it's free. Anon hate should be an instant block.
