HE’S  BEEN  FRIENDLY  AND  SHE  DOESN’T  KNOW  WHY  .   grace  remembers  the  donut  shop  at  four  in  the  morning  ,   watching  people  meander  outside  the  windows  .   no  one  as  beautiful  as  him  ever  crossed  her  path  .   it  was  odd  ,   how  he  looked  .   so  perfect  .

❝   nope  ,   never  had  any  wine  .   ❞   she  admits  with  a  sheepish  shrug  .   ❝   are  you  going  to  just  tell  me  about  it  or  actually  let  me  taste  it  ,   huh  ?   ❞

          a  hurried  pitter  patter  grew  from  behind ,    doe  eyes  swelling  with  joy .   sparks  flicker    &    define  his  silhouette ,    body  hunched  over  a  damaged  cuircass ,    obviously  deep  in  concentration .    he  watches  the  mandalorian  work  for  a  moment ,    digits  curling  around  the  fabric  of  his  cloak .    once  attention  was  given ,    the  child  gurgles ,    spitting  up  a  blue  spotted  frog    &    presenting  the  frightened  creature .    it  was  a  gift ,    one  the  children  in  the  village  seemed  to  like  greatly .

ALICE  WAS  NEVER  CRUEL  ,   TO  HER  CREDIT  .   even  when  jess  was  human  ,   she’d  watch  her  breeze  down  the  hallway  without  the  telltale  stab  of  guilt  .   only  a  desire  to  follow  her  ,   to  dance  through  life  as  she  did  .   but  ,   like  her  brothers  and  sisters  ,   she  was  solid  teflon  .   not  meant  to  be  spoken  to  or  imitated  .   until  now  .

❝    unless  it  was  a  prophecy  about  ,   like  ,   me  getting  into  yale  ---    ❞    jessica  waves  a  very  official - looking  letter  in  front  of  alice’s  face  with  a  giddy  break  in  her  voice  .    ❝    it  can  wait  just  a  couple  minutes  ,   i’m  visualizing  my  goals  .    ❞

❝    maybe  ,   but  i  don’t  really  wanna  entertain  delusions  of  godhood  ,   you  know  ?   you  can  have  your  little  villain  origin  story  but  it’s  not  for  me  .    ❞    jessica  watches  the  guy  with  the  knife  run  scared  .   she  gave  him  a  fright  and  that’s  good  enough  for  her  .  

but  she  looks  to  damon  ,   holds  up  the  wallet  recently  bequeathed  to  her  .   it  was  a  gift  ,   though  given  under  duress  .    ❝    i  wonder  how  you’re  gonna  feel  when  i  tell  you  that  i  wanna  return  this  to  its  rightful  owner  .   clearly  it  isn’t  his  .    ❞    she  pauses  a  beat  for  dramatic  effect  ,   then  pockets  the  wallet  with  a  snort  .    ❝    okay  ,   that  was  a  goof  .  i’m  totally  not  doing  that  .    ❞
