❝ It feels like we’re going nowhere fast. ❞

She stood amid the bodies, low moans of pain emanating from the mouths of her would be captors as she slid to the floor - none dead...good...she’d kept her word, in spite of everything; she knew she couldn’t linger long, but the constant running was exhausting.
She knew better than to rest on her laurels however...it was only a matter of time before they got more...creative in the reclamation efforts.
She cast an unreadable gaze at the wounded as she rose to her feet, side stepping blood to avoid leaving a trail for them to follow, muttering a soft apology as she made her way towards the exit of the abandoned warehouse they’d attempted to corner her in.
‘Please no more tonight...just let the remainder be free of this...I’m so tired...’
Speak no evil
"A liittle warm for the coat no?”
Gently swirling the coctail in his glass Tine leaned back against the hotel’s balcony railing and turned his gaze up to the red cloudless sky above. Four stories below the streets bustled with tourists and night workers preparing for the clubs to open up.
“I know the instructions were to get into my room without being detected but you hardly walked in looking like that now did you?”

“Ahahaha....A Werewolf, huh? I should’ve expected other worlds to have stuff like that.” The giant looked at the other male with the same interest on his face that he has towards most new things. A smile appears on the man’s lips. His two giant axes are placed on his shoulder, with his one hand holding them. That Millenium organization hired them to do a job! Something about not causing too much fuss and drawing attention stopped them from doing it themselves. The Viking could respect that, honestly.
“So. Did they place ya alongside us just to direct, or would you assist little old me?” He laughs. A loud, boisterous laugh befitting of someone his size. He looks away, noticing that they are advancing closer to their destination now

Her eyes went wide in surprise - such a serene atmosphere; she’d been living and hiding within the woods with the werewolf’s infrequent visits for several months now, and kills being brought back to the pack that had seemingly integrated her in was commonplace.
She was used to bloodshed; carnage was her normal now after thirty years in captivity and experimentation...this was the kind of peace her mind and heart craved.
No contention between species, just quiet among those gathered at the reflective pool; when had the tears gathered - she hadn’t realized they’d formed until they’d spilled over and ran down her cheeks.
She swiped them away quickly, and looked up at him, eyes glowing in the bright light of the moon as a smile appeared on her normally expressionless features, warming her entire face.
“...dankeschön.”

Her demeanor had shifted somewhat, her usually placid energy practically vibrating with something barely contained within her, her eyes truly betraying her with the way they practically glowed as she looked up at him.
She held out both palms, showing a small array of rather unremarkable specks which, upon a closer inspection, were revealed to be seeds; she drew in a slow breath, loosing it slowly and in a split second, the tiny seeds exploded with life, roots curling around pale scarred fingers.
Pale green shoots thickening and buds forming and blooming in a wide spectrum of colors, shapes and sizes; an unmistakable smile has formed on her lips as the roots crawled up her wrists, one she turned up towards him.
“I found out I could do this on accident...I’ve been practicing.”

The pack of wolves, who despite her efforts to shake them of her trail and had basically assimilated her involuntarily into their fold, rushed the towering figure; ears forward, eyes curious, tails wagging enthusiastically as they sniffed at his clothing, practically tripping over themselves to get closer.
She held back, however, eyeing him with the barest hints of a frown on her lips - she just could not get a bead on this person and it unnerved her to say the least; at least the wolves had deemed him trustworthy by the look of it.
“...didn’t think you’d come around again.”

Kicking a used bullet shell across the dirt Tine scrunched up his nose at the fine rust coloured dust that rose up into the cold air. Hours prior this plot of land was filled with the bark of orders, screams of bravado, fear and pain and the constant drone of gunshots. Now all was quiet.
Trenches filled with dead bodies and scattered limbs littered the area. Barbed wire and empty broken weapons stomped into the dirt. Crouching to pick up a broken bayonet the blond momentarily wondered if it broke off stabbed in someone’s chest or if it snapped off the ground and betrayed its holder. Tossing the scrap of metal, and the thought aside Tine set about what he came to this dead place for.
Dead soldiers made for excellent masks. Young men from good families killed in the line of duty were always welcomed into the home when they somehow turned up in a few months. No questions asked, just joy and gratitude their precious family had returned. It got him a few days under a roof and whatever useful information they might hold about the countries politics.
Then when he disappeared they thought they had gone mad from grief or went on desperate searches to find him. Some thought he was a ghost. It was very amusing.
Hoisting a torso up by its ruined uniform Tine paused and turned his head.
“......”
He was not alone.
