One of my dreams in life is to complete a Pokedex with another person playing a Pokemon game with me. I very much feel in the mood to complete my Scarlet pokedex but I don't know anyone with Violet so I'd have to buy the game so I can do it. I want to do it with someone and have it feel like an adventure with someone I know. Which is why I'm kinda opposed to just doing online trades with people who already have all the pokemon. I want someone I KNOW to be standing in a grass field for hours looking for like 2 different pokemon then realizing partway through that they are in the wrong area or something dumb like that. If I do it online I just post a message in a discord/forum.
"Hey I'm looking for x can anyone trade it for me"
And then have a complete stranger trade me the exact pokemon I'd need. It's too easy. Too unfair. How boring is that.
Maybe my idea of how fun it might be to complete a pokedex with someone is completely wrong and it would actually be miserable. But at least that's an experience I'd want to know. I want to play these games with people. That's at least part of the theory of why they make two different versions of the game.
