[continued from 📆] @wasbctter
From elsewhere, scrolling for none to read and one to hear:
* Books. * False ones. * Ruined ones.
* Nothing useful.
Yeah, right. “Chara” liked it when they paused to look at the ones with flower diagrams, even if it was just as useless as defeating enemies.
...Whole time they’ve been here, they never gained a single point of EXP. Knowing the truth of the world made them immune, maybe. Or else 20 was enough Violence that it didn’t matter if they dusted--or rather, splattered--a few more.
Either way, the rest of the books were too fake or for the 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚝𝚊𝚐𝚘𝚗𝚒𝚜𝚝 to puzzle with to be interesting. When the Player (if there is a Player, and he’s not merely going through the motions) stopped for too long, they shot ahead. Following the rules for this long was enough. They can climb over those stupid boxes in the way, and so they do, travelling up and up and up...
Until they’re out on some kind of...balcony, they suppose. Basically an outside hallway, ‘cause there’s a door on the other side. They can see the sky, unsaturated purple and black and plaid, all mashed together to look like it’s all just grey.
They walk to the very edge.
Suck a breath in.
