Rainy Rambles: Out in the field

In addition to being a huge nature nerd, I’m quite the bibliophile.

I haven't been writing as many articles for my website the last few weeks as I've been putting the bulk of my writing time into The Everyday Naturalist manuscript. However, I am still writing my biweekly Rainy Rambles column for the Coast Weekend paper. This is my latest installation thereof, discussing some of my favorite field guides that I use out here in the Columbia-Pacific region (many of them are applicable further afield in the Pacific Northwest, and a couple even more widespread than that!)

Can I just talk about Fucking Washington for a moment?

I fucking love Washington, and Oregon as well, because they're so fucking beautiful! And, I just love the rain, and how you can drive 20 minutes north and you'll be in farmland and there's horses and cows and ahhhh omg. I just love it, okay? Just wanted to express my feels for my state. I just love it the mountains, the Puget sound, fucking ocean shores. We got the whole shibang.

(Alaska is pretty badass too, so is Canada. I fucking love wildlife and waking up to a moose in my back yard would be fucking awesome.)
