Hey you, I have the stupidest question. But should go to the head of the line. Senior discount and all. What is a bank holiday? And are there fixed ones through the year. Just wondering what closes down as well on those days. Thanks. me.
Haha senior discount. It’s not a stupid question. They were initially religious things but they’re just public holidays. Private businesses close down on bank holidays and services are often limited. You get the day off work as most companies aren’t open unless they’re in the service industry. There are fixed ones throughout the year. They can differ from England to Scotland so for example England gets the day off for their Patron Saint’s day- George- whereas in Scotland it’s in November and it’s for Andrew.

You do realize that there are exceptions to that case. And it has been updated since Prince Philip demanded and received...
You still don’t understand how American journalism works or that she wasn’t paid for being in Vanity Fair in any country. That’s literally not how being an interview subject works here in the US either. You’ve conflated tabloids buying pictures with someone posing for a cover story about them & their career. You need to go back & read the law & the subsequent decisions including those restricting the Mirror from publishing Prince Charles comments on China. Also take a look at the Capello effect.
You are jumping to an erroneous conclusion based off a flawed understanding of the law & of American journalism. More decorum won’t change the fact that you’re wrong & all the attempts to deflect won’t change the reality that you’re lying to prop up a false idea that Meghan or Harry have surrendered their privacy. The Royal Family is exempt from FOIA requests & you think they have less privacy because of a few sentences in a magazine?
You should go back to law school if you ever went in the first place. Your research skills are deeply flawed if you don’t understand the laws of confidence and how they apply, or how they have been expanded to cover privacy & restrict intrusions into the lives of the royals & their friends & family. Perhaps less time spent on insisting that you’re right and more on doing some actual research would be helpful.
That interview could not have gone better. I am so pleased with how well it went, and I think the lady really likes me! There are somethings I need to send her, but I think I am going to get the internship! Thank you to @washingtonandwinter and @kates-middleton for your endless support and thanks for never giving up on me!
I found out today I have passed ALL of my classes from the spring semester. I am SO happy and EXTREMELY relieved. I want to send special thanks to @kates-middleton, @washingtonandwinter, & @ahappyroyalist. Whenever I was at a low, these ladies would bring me back to a high (emotionally.... lol). Thank you, ladies!
In other news, this is the first time I’ve logged on today and I am overwhelmed with these new pics!! GAHH.
What a beautiful and wonderful occasion. Couple of questions. Was the Duchess of Cambridge the maid of honor? Is this the typical time of day for a wedding? Does anyone else feel bad for Mike Middleton- who has to give his daughters away in all the public spotlight? It must be emotional enough but this must be torture. And I thought Pippa and Kate hated Princess Eugenie??? Thought everyone looked lovely and kids were too adorable. And thanks to PEOPLE magazine for the live stream of trees.
It has been a lovely day and the fandom have been in such a good mood. Haha I was watching the Telegraph’s live stream and that was just as bad. I saw literally no one arriving.
Was the Duchess of Cambridge the maid of honor? Not officially but she did all of the duties of a maid of honour so essentially, yes
Is this the typical time of day for a wedding? In the UK, yes. I know US weddings can be quite different. Weddings usually start at around 11 and will go on well in to the night, often the early morning. They are looooong days
Does anyone else feel bad for Mike Middleton- who has to give his daughters away in all the public spotlight? It must be emotional enough but this must be torture. Maybe but maybe he feels proud. He gets to show off his relationship with his girls and the pride he has for the whole world.
And I thought Pippa and Kate hated Princess Eugenie??? Only a small handful of bitter people believe that ;) They’re obviously friends as she only invited around 100 people haha
