Though I know me complaining about it on tumblr is unlikely to make a difference, I wish people would understand that there are some allergies and intolerances really don't need areas to be sanitised and completely free of the allergen. There are allergies that only apply when the allergen is ingested, or a significant amount of it makes skin contact, or are minor enough that only repeated or prolonged contact is an issue. E.g a customer who asks for a dairy free one thing while ordering something else that contains a small amount of dairy is not likely doing this to spite you or to make your life harder or because they are terribly entitled. A person who cannot eat a whole bun of bread but does not require full celiac decontamination is most likely not lying for fun. Some people's digestive systems can only handle certain substances up to a specific, individual threshold.
And I wish people would stop making snide comics about how much they hate customers with minor allergies or intolerances that don't require absolute abstinence. It's not your job to decide if the allergy is real or not. You aren't the customer's doctor and you aren't the one who has to live with the digestive consequences of breaking that customer's diet. You do not get to decide what that person can and cannot eat.
