Can I ask you something about how do seiyuus or voice actors record the "love scenes" in BLCDs? are they in the same room?! do you think they get turned on or something?! I'm jsut curious coz I just finished listening to the Vol. 5 of Saezuru. Shingaki Tarusuke sans moans killed me. Help!
I can only tell you what I picked up from interviews or cast talks, so I’m definitely not an expert or anything, but yes, usually all the seiyuu who record a scene together would be in the same room. Those who aren’t in the scene wait in the back of the studio. During love scenes it is especially important that the seme actor and the uke actor work together as a team, because if their own breathing doesn’t match their partner’s, the whole scene sounds off. It’s a lot of work to make it sound natural.
Shingaki-san nowadays plays more seme than uke roles, because he needs less air for them, as he says. I haven’t listened to any BLCDs lately, but I think he mentioned in a cast talk somewhere (probably on one of the Danshi koukousei hajimete no CDs, because they all have 30+ minute long sex scenes) that he almost hyperventilated during one scene due to his excessive breathing. They seem to record those scenes in one take if possible, and you can definitely hear his voice crack near the end. He even sounds hoarse afterwards.
Which means love scenes are hard, because they require a lot of concentration and timed breathing. So, I don’t think the seiyuu get turned on doing them. Maybe if they’re really into their role and the scene isn’t too difficult, but with the production staff listening in the background and giving commands … Well, I’m not a guy, so I don’t know, but for me it would be a turn-off.
BUT in the cast talk of Saezuru drama CD 2 Ryuuzaki’s voice actor Miyake Kenta openly praises Shingaki-san’s incredible sex appeal! And Hatano Wataru (Doumeki) enthusiastically agrees saying Shingaki-san’s nuanced play during sexy scenes gives him goose bumps. Sooo, the Shingaki-Effect™ seems to be universal LOL!
Oh, and I just remembered, on drama CD 1 during the scene where Ryuuzaki is introduced, and he has that short dispute with Yashiro in front of the Lexus, Yashiro grabs him by the balls, lowers his voice and says how he will keep his asshole empty for Ryuuzaki in an agressive-seductive voice that gives me shivers. It seems Miyake-san had a reaction there too, because he said in an interview later that when he prepared that scene, he didn’t know why there is a panel of Ryuuzaki looking down irritated after Yashiro’s line in the manga. But after he heard those words spoken by Shingaki-san he finally understood what that panel is probably supposed to mean, and is very grateful to Shingaki-san for making that discovery possible with his superb acting. Hmmm, i wonder what could he possibly mean by this? (¬‿¬)
