Can we please talk about all these people crying about "blackish" being a racist tv show just because of the name of it? Like I'm utterly speechless at the stupidity I'm seeing.
Haven't watched it yet, but I've got it DVR'd and will watch soon. Looks pretty funny to me, but folks look for any reason in the world to be pressed these days. Even with the Black community, we haven't found a way to bridge the gap from the problematic notion of "New Black" and the re-emerging "Black Liberation" theology. I think Black-ish is a show that looks to be engaging directly in that kind of discourse, which seems promising from the previews alone. I'll share further thoughts after seeing a few episodes, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Is it at the very least funny?
