I'm running through the Endless Paths of Od Nua because apparently I hadn't done farther than Maerwald in this game, and I keep finding drugs in vases. Yes, let's do drugs that we found in a dusty container in the murder basement. Sounds like a good time.

👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?
Jessamine is a nature godlike and was sold at a young age to a traveling circus so she doesn't remember her family at all. She does have siblings, but they've never left Aedyr, so there's no likelihood of them meeting at all.
🌟 GLOWING STAR - what do they think about when they look at the night sky? is there someone they want to star gaze with?
She's well traveled (not entirely of her own volition), going from Aedyr to Old Vailia to the Vailian Republics and then Dyrwood (and eventually Deadfire), so it brings her some comfort to be able to look at the night sky and find some of the same constellations. Her circumstances might change, but the sky is eternal. She likes stargazing with Kana because he actually has interesting stories about the constellations.
💗 GROWING HEART - if they have a crush, is it noticable? what changes when they're in love?
Jessamine's an expert in the art of seduction, which means when she actually has feelings for someone she clams up and acts like she doesn't. She associates her seduction techniques with being fake and lying, and so doesn't want to bring that into the possibility of a real relationship. She's slightly better adjusted by Deadfire, and is able to flirt a bit more normally with Tekehu.

I'm a good chunk into Jessamine's Pillars 1 game (part way into Act 3), but I don't know that I'm feeling her as a character. Which is a little funny because she was originally supposed to be my second game before Lillian stole the show. But I keep playing her game and thinking what I'd do on other runs, and I'm wondering now if I'm just suck-cost-fallacy-ing her game.

More Watcher Jessamine thoughts (I apparently lied about switching game focus):
I previously said I thought she'd side with the VTC in Deadfire; after playing her more I now think she'd side with Aeldys's faction of the Principi. (She hates slavery. She REALLY hates slavery and would not forgive the VTC for being complicit in it).
Since she's still in Act 3 of Pillars 1, I've been contemplating which god she'll side with, and I'm leaning Galawain. One, I haven't sided with him before so it's new content. Two, Jessamine is more pro-Dyrwood than I expected so I think she'd be on board for strengthening their souls. It just feels a bit on the nose having the nature godlike side with Galawain.
The faction she sided with in Act 2 was House Doemenel!
Her relationship with Iovara in the past life has been clarified as "friends;" I think the person she was actually in love with was Thaos (though I haven't gone as far as installing the Thaos relationship mod, and also I was not expecting this). Though this does not carry over to her current life. She just fucking hates his guts.
I don't think she's keeping Vela, though she could surprise me.
She's bffs with Kana (there's a reason he gets to run with the girl squad), possibly extending to crush, but nothing ever happens. He's the one that encourages her to take up Chanting instead of just singing, leading to her Rogue/Chanter multiclass in Deadfire.
She's normally on board for stealing things, but was extremely affronted by the guy in Stalwart who wanted her to steal some alcohol from the bar. I don't actually have a good character explanation for that one, so I think the spirit of Poetry overcame me in that instance.
For shipping, I'm leaning more and more towards Tekehu. She's actually not close with Aloth at all, and while she's friends with Pallegina, they have very different worldviews.
The party I'd like to run with in Deadfire is Jessamine (Trickster/Skald), Tekehu (Druid/Chanter), Serafen (Cipher/Barbarian), Xoti (Priest/Monk), and Maia (Ranger/Wizard), although I'm a little worried about that party not having a clear frontline tank. But I want to actually try to get Xoti and Maia together for once!
Running with the girl squad + Kana. He gets to be an honorary member.
Unfortunately I can't replace him with Devil for party composition reasons; my character is a Rogue, and Kana's Ancient Memory is the main source of this team's healing.
