I don't think it's a coincidence that the increase in viewing media being referred to as "consumption" has correlated with seasons becoming shorter and shorter. With it now being the norm for complete seasons to be 5 or 6 episodes long, even someone who only has an hour for TV per day can watch an entire series in a week. Gone are the days of 20 episode seasons where characters and storylines become constants in our lives for months at a time. Even those of us who don't binge watch are devouring whole seasons at breakneck speed and constantly searching for a new source of entertainment multiple times per month. Hmmmm... I watched the first episode of Sentenced to be a hero on a complete whim with zero prior knowledge about the show any. And I was really disappointed in the writing. There was so much mystery to build up and they just answered it in the first episode??? All Xylos back story could have made it much more inviting to watch if his story is gradually revealed. Instead I feel its flattened his character to someone who does whats right and wants revenge for being wronged. It doesn't make him feel like a grey character at all to me. Like I said I have no knowledge about this show so there's probably more plot twists to come but I didn't like how that first episode played out.

That being said I love the character designs and animation (even if I didn't like the first person povs). I'm willing to give this show a proper shot basically because I like the designs so much
