We saw sammy from hazel's pov and leo from jason's pov... Maybe that's the reason :)

could be, but as far as I remember we saw leo from pretty much all the povs of the rest of the seven and he was always described as scrawny, a commentary that came from hazel once if I’m not mistaken. but yeah who knows, rick’s writing can be pretty confusing sometimes so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
