Cuttings Planted, and a few more started.
I got my first batch of impatiens cuttings planted tonight, and a good thing too; some of the roots were showing white, mushy water fungus, so any longer and they could've rotted away on me.
For now I'm keeping them under the lights of the stove. Mainly because I don't want to risk cross-contamination with the parents that could potentially have bugs. The babies here will be isolated by the stove until I can send them off to the farm.
The Parent from the cutting tutorial post is doing fine as you can see. It's regrowing just fine and will soon be ready to have more cuttings taken from it. I still find the distorted leaves worrisome, but since the new growth looks healthy I don't feel I'll need to think much of it.
For some strange reason, one of the trailing coleus plants was wilting. It had plenty of water in the soil, but there was no sign of rot either so it's really unusual. To be on the safe side, I took the wilted parts off (which was pretty much everything), washed the cuttings, and discarded the original plant.
The cuttings are doing just fine and will probably root just fine as well. I'm disinfecting the cutting shelf before placing them there to be cautious though. Keeping things clean keeps the buggies away after all. I even disinfected the watering can since it's had it's nosel on plenty of my plants lol.
I'll be starting some more cuttings as well as starting some of the Cacti seeds tomorrow or sometime very soon. I've been stalling long enough.
