OK, not fungi related, but look at this cute little Newt I found chasing a Waterboatman while out walking on some heathland!

The Lesser Waterboatman Corixa punctata at Barview Jetty on the Oregon coast, 27 August 2019. These guys are tricky--note the third pair of legs folded and modified into "oars" with "paddles," while the second leg pair trails behind. The first pair of legs is way forward on the prothorax and smushed up against the inner concave surface of the head mask, giving the impression of labial palps.

The Loudest By Size.

This is the loudest animal in proportion to its body size, this is Micronecta scholtzi, it is 2 millimeter long, it produces a sound of 99.2 decibels by rubbing it’s penis over an area the width of a human hair. Honestly, I’m a little jealous on that.
