It’s been so long since she sung -- especially this song. It’s been so long since her voice rose, lilting, to do anything to help. But even if it is all futile in the end -- even if her loop will just reset, and the people suffering here will no longer have ever suffered, still... it feels wrong to ignore their pleas.
Especially when she’s planning on ending the world.
Lips part, and she sings a song that feels like an old memory -- one that sounds so melancholy now, with a lowered voice. The last time she sung this song, she had thought she was helping people. She had thought she was singing for the people. Her voice was joyful, relaxed... but she had only helped bring destruction.
This time, her voice sounded hollow, and torn thin, but she knew the only action this could be would be a positive one -- even if only temporarily. Was that... irony?
“O, Aqua, sung from an ancient prayer... O, Aqua, to a connection with life.”
Around her, blue light rose -- colors coming to rest between hands, cupped together.
“We ask for your blessings We ask for your blessings And offer everything now.”
The light turns nearly formless, then almost too white -- no, it’s no longer the light of her song -- it’s the sun, reflecting off of the wall of water in her hands. With little flourish, she pushes her wrists forward, and the growing mass of water collides with the dried waterbed of a babbling brook.
“It flows O, Aqua When filled with pure blue We will play... We will play, A melody of gratitude.”
She thins her lips, stares at the stream rushing before her.
Why had she done this...?
