Today’s @ducktober2020 prompt was Cryptids, so I went with the most elusive and cryptic thing in the Ducktales canon: Watermelon Mickey

Or as my brother and I like to call him: Implied Mickey! :D

Every time I think the show-runners have settled on a way to include Mickey without being allowed to actually use him, they keep coming up with clever ways to bypass this:

“Oh, wow! Storkules is played by the same voice actor who voiced Mickey in the Mickey Mouse Shorts! And he’s Donald’s best friend! This is the closest we’ll come to ever seeing Mickey on this show.”

“What?! An award in the the shape of Mickey’s head?! Wow! That’s even more direct! This is definitely the closest we’ll ever get to seeing Mickey on the show.”

“What the--?!?! A cluster of watermelons in the shape of Mickey AND his Shorts voice actor stepping in to do Donald’s impression?! This has to be it. This has to be the closest we’ll ever get to seeing Mickey Mouse on the show. If they still can’t use him, what could possibly top this???”

Ok but like, why can Donald speak perfectly as Watermelon Mickey but not any other time??? Like, just keep doing that and you'll be good, my dude.

I saw the Donald and Della reunion so I drew Donald when he was stranded on the island. I added the Mcduck whiskers and more scars based on my headcannons with watermelon mickey. I might draw more from moonvasion.
